We were one of the first international law firms to open an office in Africa over 30 years ago and we continue to support and advise clients across the continent. We provide our clients in Africa with an integrated service that is supported by our global reach and best practice aligned with industry expertise and local knowledge. Baker McKenzie is identified by Acritas as “the firm most used for high value work in Africa” according to the Sharplegal Insight Guide (June 2016) – “Demand in Africa: The Multinational Opportunity” and was the winner of the ‘International Law Firm for Africa’ award at the Legal Week 2015 African Legal Awards.

ENSafrica is Africa’s largest law firm, with over 600 practitioners, and 100 years of experience in high-level, complex commercial work. The firm’s focus is on what’s best for the client and striving for excellence, in both offering and service. ENSafrica is committed to providing clients with cost-effective outcomes by ensuring work is done at the right level, and in the manner that best suits clients’ preferences and pricing structures.

While many recognise the unique opportunities for trade, investment and growth that Africa represents, predicting in-country and across region risks is not easy, particularly given the rate of exponential change impacting multiple indicators, whether economic, political, technological or social. ENSafrica is an independent law firm with fully integrated offices across Southern, West and East Africa. The firm offers clients many years’ accumulated know-how and solid experience, whether doing business in-country or cross-continent, helping to minimise risk and leverage business opportunities across Africa.

ENSafrica has lawyers qualified to practise English, French and OHADA law, as well as practitioners who are fluent in African and international languages, and China and India practice groups.

Gleason Publications – without prejudice

Gleason Publications (Pty) Ltd opened its doors in October 1998. It publishes two niche publications: without prejudice and DealMakers.

without prejudice is supported by a number of law firms; its editorial independence and integrity are jealously guarded. The magazine publishes articles that are current and germane and a wide range of contemporary legal issues are comprehensively discussed in a manner applicable and relevant to practising lawyers while accessible to those outside the legal profession. without prejudice has been called ‘a rare source of invaluable information’. The magazine was first published in October 2001 and added a digital offering in November 2013. The search engine of the digital offering of without prejudice makes it a unique research tool.

Sister publication DealMakers, a quarterly publication that focuses on Mergers & Acquisitions and general corporate finance, was first published in the second quarter of 2000. Catalyst, which covers private equity and venture capital, and DealMakers Africa are incorporated within its covers. The magazine includes deal tables, rankings, and ‘Thort’ articles which cover matters that impact the industry.
